Net 30

A payment term meaning the full invoice amount is due within 30 days of the invoice date, with no discount for paying earlier.

What it means

Net 30 means the customer must pay the full invoice within 30 days of the invoice date. The word net signals no early settlement discount applies to that figure. Variations such as net 7, net 14 and net 60 simply change the number of days allowed.

Watch the start date

Disputes often turn on when the clock starts. Net 30 from invoice date differs from net 30 from end of month, which can add up to four extra weeks. State the basis clearly in your payment terms and on the document itself, which you can format precisely in Merion invoicing.
